Where Mark McKnight talks about what he ate for breakfast, etc. (No, it won't be quite that personal, but it will be more Chattanooga-oriented and less apropos than Kodachrome Nights for those outside my immediate social sphere).

Mummies at Riverbend?

These two shows from the Chattanooga Pulse's "Riverbend Picks" post on their blog have made me reconsider my antipathetic attitude toward Riverbend or, as I call it "Redneckbend" ... how about "Methbend" "Hoochiebend" okay I'll stop, here's the lowdown:

Friday, June 17: The California Guitar Trio with Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto – These disciples of Robert Fripp will be joined by Fripp’s current King Crimson rhythm section to tear through everything from Bach to surf music to Yes to the Mahavishnu Orchestra to their own dizzying compositions. But the highlight might just be their spot-on rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” And they play two shows.

Saturday, June 18: Here Come the Mummies – Top-notch studio musicians dressed as mummies to hide their identities while they rip through a potent mix of disco funk. This show has to be seen to be believed.

I sure wish I could make it down for some of the Fripp-Disciple action. You really should go to that.
